I am entering a competition where we research a job related to medical technology and these were options.I am curious, if l love animals but l do not wanna see a whole lot of blood, which job would be better for me??

What is the difference between an animal behaviorist and a veterinary technician

I do not know how an animal behaviorist relates to medical technology because there r only two definitions of a behaviorist that I am aware of. First, an animal behaviorist is a trained scientist who observes animals in their natural habitat & reports on the mating habits, social structure, maternal & paternal behavior, predator/prey relationships, territorial defense, eating habits etc. The second type of behaviorist is a so-called animal psychologist who tries to correct bad behavior in pets and/or tries to determine why a pet is behavior has changed. Neither involve blood, or really any sort of medical technology. The veterinary technician helps the vet in treating sick animals, & most likely will see blood, especially if the vet performs surgery or cares for traumatic injuries.

You will need a least a Masters degree to become an ethologist. Anyone with a biology degree can be a vet tech. If seeing blood is a problem, then you should not be working with animals.

Animal Behaviorists have their own webiste at:

Info on vet techs is at:

Good luck in choosing - and thanks for your interest in animals.
