So l am starting my first (real) job at a a veterinary hospital as a veterinary assistant. l have always and still do wanna become a vet and since l was 5 I've been asking our vet if l could work there. Well, I am finally old enough and was recently hire as a state-of-the-art animal hospital. It seems really promising and I've worked with animals for years but mostly on farms. Are there any little tib bits l should know about that may help me out my first day (week, month)on the job? Or anything that is not so obvious but l should be aware about when working there? l really can not screw up working here and l wanna do the best l can because l know this will be one of the best things l could put on my college application come next fall when l apply to vet school in the UK. So any extra little tips or thing you guys could let me in on l would more than appreciated it! Thanks all!
I'd especially love hearing from vets or people who work or have worked in a vets' office! ^^

What are somethings I should know about working at a veterinary hospital

Well, first let the Owner of the hospital know ur intentions of going to vet school. They r sometimes willing to give scholarship money to help u get through it if they think u will do well.

Second, do not expect that it is going to be a lot of fun working there. It will be a very difficult environment, just like a human hospital. There will be death, disease, blood, gore, & the like at this hospital, just as there owuld be at any other hospital known to man.
